Ashley and Aaron’s Chestnut Ridge Wedding was one for the books! It was a wedding that I and all the other vendors looked forward to all year a.) because of how wonderful A+A are and b.) because we knew all the unique details that were going into this big Southern soiree! I first got to know Ashley and Aaron when I shot their engagement session at Black Balsam. They brought along their dog Hank and we had the best time. All throughout my interactions with them I loved seeing how they take care of each other- the love that they have is truly something special.

Ashley and Aaron got married on a breezy day at the end of October. The rain that day stopped just in time for us to do some outdoor portraits! One thing I couldn’t get over was ALL the details. The quote “it’s all in the details,” was the 100% truth when it came to their wedding. I knew that Ashley wanted to be surrounded by flowers in their reception space, but I didn’t realize just how many there would be. My favorite feature of their reception was the flower covered chandelier- it was just dripping with fresh blossoms!

Ashley and Aaron’s ceremony had everyone in tears…especially Aaron! His reaction to Ashley walking down the aisle will go down in history as one of the sweetest groom reactions EVER. After they said “I do,” the entire bridal party went outside for them dig up the bottle of bourbon they had buried 6 months before. If you haven’t heard of this SUPER Southern tradition, superstition has it that if you bury a bottle of bourbon upside down at your wedding site 6 months before your wedding, then on the day of your wedding there will be good weather. I can’t say that the weather on their day was perfect….but the rain did stop just in time for outdoor photos, so I count it as a win! We wrapped up an already amazing day with romantic couples photos in the field above the venue, getting down with the band, and fireworks! The perfect exit for their romantic day!
