Haley and Alex’s Wiseman’s View Elopement was so special to me because it was the first wedding-related event I was able to photograph in the spring after the stay home order in North Carolina was lifted. Haley reached out to me on Instagram about shooting her wedding almost two years ago and we immediately connected! Even though she and Alex were having a long engagement she knew that she wanted to start finalizing all the details of their wedding day.
Haley and Alex initially planned on having a full wedding in May, but when COVID hit they quickly adjusted their plans to a smaller, more intimate elopement with just their family and friends! They got ready in a gorgeous Airbnb near Blowing Rock, NC and then everyone piled into several cars to drive to the local church. Alex’s background is Catholic, so it was very important to him and his family to honor that, so Alex and Haley were married at Church of The Epiphany in Blowing Rock. Church of The Epiphany is a beautiful older church that is only opened in the spring and summer months. With its gorgeous stained glass windows and handbuilt pews, it made an idyllic setting for their intimate ceremony.
From the church we drove to Wiseman’s View to end the day with family photos and couple photos of Haley and Alex with the sunset! I was also able to stop at Linville Falls with Haley and Alex before we went up to the top of Wiseman’s View. We ended their elopement day with a champagne toast and even though I ended up covered in champagne, it was the perfect way to top off their wedding day.
