Kaitlyn and Tyler’s Chestnut Ridge wedding was so much fun to be a part of. Their wedding day dawned with sunshine and some clouds on the horizon, but I knew nothing was going to stop these two from having the day of their dreams. It was very important to Kaitlyn and Tyler that they have an outdoor ceremony with the mountains in the background. One of the reasons they fell in love with Chestnut Ridge was the beautiful mountains surrounding the venue, so it only made sense that their ceremony highlighted that. We knew going into their ceremony that there were some clouds that were threatening storms shortly after their ceremony was to be concluded, but the weather radars ended up being a little off. As soon as the second bridesmaid and groomsmen started walking down the aisle towards the ceremony altar the rain started drizzling lightly. I’ve shot under many weather conditions though and it was business as usual even with the rain, so we just kept shooting. As the ceremony was almost finished the rain started picking up and becoming heavier, so Kaitlyn sweetly announced that they were going to go ahead and kiss. They kissed and the officiant announced they were married just as the rain started drenching us. We all were able to quickly run inside and I am happy to say that Kaitlyn’s dress and veil were only a tiny bit wet. One of the things that I loved the most about Kaitlyn and Tyler’s wedding day was the fact that they weren’t even phased by the rain and instead of viewing their ceremony as ruined, they were talking about how it would be a fun story one day to tell their future kids. Kaitlyn and Tyler have proven that they have a sunny outlook even when things don’t go according to plan, so I know their future together is going to be very bright! Congrats K&T!
