Katherine and Ethan’s Roan Mountain Engagement Session almost didn’t happen! The day of their session it was snowing lightly as I left Asheville with my sweet mom driving us, but I knew that weather conditions could change quickly as we got closer to Roan Mountain. And boy was I right! The closer we got to Roan, the faster the snow was falling and accumulating on the ground. When we were about 5 miles from Carver’s Gap, we stopped at a little church and tried to asses if my honda civic could make it any further safely. After some prayers and crossed fingers, we decided to continue up the mountain. We made it to the top and I met up with Ethan and Katherine to start the session!
With the snow rapidly growing deeper we decided to do the session as quickly as possible so we could all try to get home before the road conditions worsened. And the 13 degree temperature might have also played a factor in us trying to be efficient with our time. It was so so cold, but absolutely beautiful at Roan. It looked like a winter wonderland and was definitely the most snow I saw all winter! I am so happy that we were able to time their session just right and capture such a fairytale type setting for their engagements.
