Rachel and Harry had a magical engagement session in Downtown Nashville last week! Rachel is a former ballerina and professional dancer that I met through her current role at the Nashville Ballet as their events manager. When I discovered Rachel’s background in dance, I knew she would be wonderful at movement during their session and it was easy to see her natural grace shining through in their photos. Rachel and Harry have been together for 13 years! They met in high school and have been dating since their junior year. After college took their careers in different directions, they continued to date long distance until Rachel moved to Nashville to join Harry in 2020. Harry proposed at the beginning of the year on a romantic trip abroad to Europe in the Bavarian Alps.
I absolutely adore the Nashville Public Library in Downtown Nashville and knew it would have the classic vibe that Rachel and Harry were looking for. The marble floors and floor-to-ceiling windows of the library create the most breathtaking lighting perfect for a dreamy engagement session. Rachel and Harry truly view their relationship as a partnership and wanted this to be emphasized in their photos. They were excellent at following directions- something I love to give to my couples at their engagement sessions and we had so much fun exploring all that the library had to offer.
After our time at the library, we walked over to one of my other favorite places to shoot- the Nashville War Memorial! Because it was such a beautiful spring day, there were lots of people at the memorial, but we managed to dodge the crowds and capture the beauty of the monument. I was surprised to find that some of the trees at the War Memorial had started blooming already and I love that Rachel and Harry had a little touch of spring in their engagement session. I adored my time with R&H and hope you enjoy their photos as much as I enjoyed taking them!
