Recently I got to help plan and throw a baby shower at Engaged Asheville for my sweet friend, Sarah! When I was newer to the wedding photography world in Asheville, Sarah (along with my good friend Ruby), was one of the first people in the industry to welcome me with open arms! Through career changes (she left the wedding photography world to become a realtor), a move, helping Stephen and I find our first home, and her first pregnancy we have remained friends. Sarah is one of the kindest hearted people that I know, so I wasn’t surprised when so many other amazing women came together to help throw her shower (thank you to my good friend Melissa from Pop of Color, Melissa Greene, Ting, Lorena, Laura, and everyone else who helped-it takes a village). Sarah and Chris are going with a safari woodland theme for their baby girl’s nursery, so I wanted to continue that theme for Sarah’s shower. We used lots of fresh greenery for color, pops of gold and light pink to get a little bit girly and gold spray painted safari animals to go with the theme. I also used this tutorial I found on Pinterest to make floral wreaths that we hung above the gift table. I’m not going to lie, I struggled over those dang eucalyptus floral wreaths for at least a few hours the evening before haha, but in the end they at least photographed well 🙂 The safari cake and geometric cut out cupcakes were made by my friend Mandy from 50/Fifty The Art of Dessert and they did NOT disappoint. Engaged really is the ideal spot to throw baby showers, get ready on your wedding day, or even have an elopement…I just can’t get over how beautifully the all white walls photograph and how versatile they have made the space.
I am so excited to meet baby Rominger sometime this month and loved getting to celebrate the new mom-to-be!
