Brittney & Paul | Point Dume Malibu Anniversary Session

Every time I travel to California for weddings I always end up booking sessions while I am out there and I couldn’t have been happier to photograph Brittney and Paul’s Anniversary Session at Point Dume. The week that I shot their session in Malibu marked their one-year wedding anniversary making their session extra special. Point Dume is a gorgeous spot (one of my favorite spots actually in Malibu) that has amazing cliffs overlooking the beach. Point Dume is actually a point that you can hike out to, but on the day of their photos, it was so shrouded in fog that we decided to shoot with it in the background and hike down to the beach where all the surfers were at. We walked along the rocky beach and found so many amazing spots to stop at for photos. Point Dume is one of those amazing places that no matter where you look, you have an amazing background. Brittney is actually a photographer herself and Paul works in the theatre department at Pepperdine University. Brittney picked out the perfect outfits the complimented the moody feel of their session. I couldn’t help but comment so many times while shooting that it felt like we were on the coast of Oregon instead of in typically sunny Malibu. I really am in love with the magic we got to create together that day!
