We had the ultimate adventure for Emily and Mike’s Hawksbill Engagement Session! After a couple dates that we had to reschedule due to unpredictable weather, we FINALLY, finally got up to Hawksbill a couple weeks ago on a Monday. About 30 minutes into my drive over from Asheville it started dumping rain from the sky and I did go into semi-freak out mode. But thanks to having no cell service to send out a text, I decided to just cross my fingers and hope for the best. When I got up there to meet them it was still raining like mad, but we put on our raincoats and began the trek up because we weren’t going to let a little rain stop us. When we were nearly to the top, it miraculously quit raining and the sun came out! I am not lying when I say it stayed clear for our one hour of shooting and then the minute we hiked back down and got back in our cars it started raining again.
Emily and Mike met in Georgia and have been together for a few years now! And honestly I just think they are the coolest, they recently moved to Asheville after traveling around the US for the past year in an RV. Emily and Mike both work at breweries-Mike at Sweeten Creek Brewing and Emily at Sierra Nevada. I was so excited when Mike got some beers from their rival breweries out at their engagement session for photos! Not only did they bring beer to their session, but they also brought along their adorable rescue dog, Penny, the perfect dog model. This has been a huge year of firsts for them! They got engaged, bought their first house, adopted Penny, and will soon say “I do!” In the true spirit of adventurers they have a “bring it on life,” kind of attitude and I am digging it.
