Haley and Alex’s Roan Mountain Engagement Session was so beyond perfect!! I know I’ve talked about this in the past, but I can’t help myself. Out of all the mountain spots that I go to in Western North Carolina- to me, Roan Mountain will always be one of the most special places. I loved going there as a little kid and I enjoy going there even more as an adult. My favorite place to meet couples for sessions up at Roan Mountain is in the parking lot at Carver’s Gap. Carver’s Gap is right on the North Carolina/Tennessee border. One of the coolest things about Roan Mountain is that you can stand in the middle and on one side you can see North Carolina and on the other side you can see Tennessee.
Haley and Alex are getting married next May and she actually booked me for their wedding about a year ago- I guess you could say she started wedding planning early 🙂 Haley found me through instagram and we instantly clicked even just talking through direct messaging. Back in December Haley and Alex were the models for a styled shoot that I shot! They were amazing models for that shoot, even when the temperatures were very cold and the shoot took longer than we thought it would. H+A brought that same great attitude to their engagement session!
When we first got up to Roan Mountain there were a few other couples and groups of hikers, but things quickly cleared out and we almost had the entire mountain to ourselves. We got so lucky on the night of their session because we had a truly gorgeous, glowy sunset! I love how sweet Haley and Alex are with each other and how well they seem to know each other. They’ve been together for a long time and I know their future holds many more happy years together!
