I have known the Dickerson family for years, in fact several years ago I photographed Bo’s sister, Ashley’s wedding. That was when I first met Kristin and Bo. And from the start I could tell that their love is one for a lifetime. I always feel so special when families come to me to capture multiple big life moments for them. It is something I never take for granted. Kristin and Bo’s Adaumont Farm Wedding was such a beautiful, big celebration. And seriously if you’ve never been to Adaumont Farm, this is one place in the triad you HAVE got to check out! Kristin and Bo have been together for many years, so their wedding day was a long time in the making.
Kristin and Bo are all about two things, their family and their friends. When they told me they were having a bridal party of close to 40 people, I was a little bit hesitant on how everything would play out, but after spending the day with their crew I can see why they chose to surround themselves with those people. Kristin is a gorgeous person…I know that’s cliche, but she really is the epitome of true beauty. First looks with dads are becoming more and more popular and it’s something I hope doesn’t go away soon. Kristin did a first look with her dad and these guys had everyone in tears. The first thing Bo did on HIS wedding day was come up to me, give me the biggest hug, and make sure I was having a good day. That speaks volumes about the kind of person he is. He is someone that always goes out of his way to make sure that his friends and family are having a great time.
Since I shoot a lot of weddings, my second shooter and I always try to decide who we think is going to cry during the wedding ceremony. When Bo saw Kristin begin the walk down the aisle, smiling faces shining all around them, the tears started coming. When Kristin reached the end of the aisle, Bo broke out in the biggest grin you’ve ever seen! Their ceremony was so sweet, but the icing on the cake was when they did a choreographed dance for their ceremony exit-NOT an easy task with a bridal party of that size. Summer storms are something you get used to in the South. The rain started pouring during the first part of their reception and I wasn’t sure if the sun was going to come back out for golden hour photos of K&B. We got so lucky though and it did! We even had the added bonus of a pastel sky and fog rising off the lake.
The night ended with a massive dance party….these guests knew how to get down! There was lots of sweat, lots of partying, and tons of fun!
Kristin & Bo- Thank you for letting me share such a beautiful day with you!
