I loved so many things about Laura and Nick’s Chestnut Ridge Wedding, but my absolute favorite part of their day was how much emphasis they put on their ceremony and the vows they were taking! When Laura first reached out to me about being their wedding photographer, I was instantly captured by her words on the kind of wedding day they hoped to have. Laura said “we are invested in finding someone that can capture our redemptive love story and the beauty and presence of God in the Blue Ridge Mountains. We love the mountains for their beauty and look forward to committing our lives together in their glory.” Laura and Nick were able to accomplish that goal completely! As Laura got ready for the ceremony she was surrounded by her friends and family members in the most relaxed pre-ceremony atmosphere I’ve ever been in. They had worship music softly playing in the background and before the ceremony, the closest women in Laura’s life laid their hands on her and prayed for her and the life she and Nick would share together in the future years. It was beautiful to hear them speaking words of life and love over her and Nick right before they were to say their wedding vows.
Laura and Nick wanted their ceremony to be the focus of their wedding and there were many tears as people watched them say their vows! The whole theme of their wedding was simple and classic, so that the focus could be on them and on the natural beauty of the mountains surrounding Chestnut Ridge. Their wedding will always hold a special place in my heart because of the people they are and because it was my first official wedding at Chestnut Ridge- a venue that is near and dear to my heart. Congrats Laura & Nick!!
